Abstract

Energy transition is a global agenda in addressing the climate crisis; however, in practice, women are often minimally involved in energy policy decision-making processes. This research aims to analyze the cooperation between Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia and Australian Aid through the We for JET program in promoting women's empowerment within the energy transition sector. The focus of this study includes the implementation of the program in East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. The findings indicate that this collaboration has successfully strengthened women's leadership capacity at the local level through education and policy analysis training. The study concludes that the synergy between PWYP Indonesia and Australian Aid is capable of integrating Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles into energy governance, despite facing challenges such as low community energy literacy and national policies that remain dominated by fossil fuels.
