Abstract


ABSTRACT

The Horn of Africa region is a crucial area in terms of maritime security. Incidents of piracy, rebellion, weapon smuggling by sea, illegal fishing, and other criminal activities have prompted countries around the world to address them. NATO's efforts and successes in addressing security issues in the Horn of Africa are discussed in-depth.
Clive Archer's theory of International organization membership and objectives in international organizations is used to discuss NATO's role. This qualitative research analyzes secondary data from journals, books, official publications, newspapers, and magazines. The research findings show that NATO successfully addressed security in the Horn of Africa through Operation Ocean Shield. This military operation has become a model for other operations carried out by other countries
