UPAYA WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE (WWF) DALAM MENGATASI KERUSAKAN LINGKUNGAN DI DAERAH ALIRAN SUNGAI (DAS) KAMPAR, PROVINSI RIAU (STUDI KASUS: WADUK PLTA KOTO PANJANG)

Abstract


World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is an NGO engaged in environmental conservation and sustainable management of natural resources to make efforts to overcome environmental damage in the Kampar Watershed especially in the PLTA Koto Panjang reservoir in 2018-2020. The research method used is descriptive qualitative which uses primary data based on interviews and secondary data such as books, documents, journals, and several other sources. The author’s perspective use is pluralism perspective with the level of analysis of group and use the international organizations theory. This research shows that the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has made various efforts to overcome environmental damage in the PLTA Koto Panjang reservoir using its roles as an international organizations through forest and land rehabilition by local group, the application of the Ecosystem Approach of Aquaculture (EAA), community empowerment activities through processed fish products, and approaching Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) programs in the schools.
