Abstract


Abstract : Physics learning in schools that does not involve students during the learning process where students are only listeners while the teacher is more dominant results in low cognitive learning outcomes of students. The solution that is expected to be able to overcome this problem is through the application of the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) model in physics learning. This study aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of students after applying the ADI model to the material of temperature and heat in class XI of SMAN 16 Peknabaru. The type of research used is Quasi-Experiment with Post-test Only design, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The data collection instrument used a cognitive learning outcome test (posttest). Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average value of cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class was 73.8 with a fairly good category, while the control class obtained an average value of 64.44 with a poor category. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the ADI model can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on temperature and heat material in class XI of SMAN 16 Pekanbaru.
