Abstract


Abstract : The objective of this Classroom Action Research (CAR) is to improve the student activity and result of study on the subject of Colloid by using Crossword Puzzle. The research was conducted with four cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in May to June 2014. The subjects were students of class XI Science 1 MAN 1 Pekanbaru, amounting to 35 students. The data collection technique is using test and student observation sheet. Analysis of data using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The use of learning Crossword Puzzle strategies can improve the activity and learning oucomes the students of class XI Science 1 MAN 1 Pekanbaru in groups and then presented it in front of the class. Average student learning activities in the learning process of the first to the end meeting increased from 57.50% to 71.88%.. Student learning outcomes of the first meeting to the end meeting based on the thoroughness of increased 45.70% to 81.81%. Keyword : Crossword Puzzle, activity, result of study
