ASOSIASI KEJADIAN STRES PSIKOLOGIS DENGAN PROSES PENYEMBUHAN LUKA OPERASI PASIEN BEDAH RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD PEKANBARU

Abstract


Wound healing is a critical process involved in the recovery from injuryand surgical procedures. Many factors can interfere this process, thus causingimproper or impaired wound healing. Psychological stress is one of the factorsthat can have a substantial and clinically relevant impact on wound repair. Astudy to find out the association between stress level and the process of woundhealing in surgical patient has been done on March until April 2013. This was anobservational study which used surgical patients in RSUD Arifin AchmadPekanbaru who underwent clean and clean-contaminated surgical procedures asthe subjects. In this study, we collected 60 patients who were measured theirstress level by using Hamilton Depression Rating Scale questionnaire. The woundhealing process was assessed by using an observational checklist. Result of stresslevel measurement showed that there was 65% of respondents had low level ofpre-operative stress and 96.7% of respondents had low level of post-operativestress. In this study, there was 56,7% of respondents included into mediumcategory of wound healing process. Result of Chi-Square Test showed that therewas an association between stress level and wound healing process of surgicalpatient in RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru (p = 0,00).Key words : wound healing, stress.
