Utilization Of Rubber Seed FlourFor Growth of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac)

Abstract


The research was conducted at experimental pond, Fisheries and MarineScience Faculty Riau University from May to July 2014. The aim of the researchwas to determine the benefits of the provision of rubber seed flour as a substitutesoybean meal of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The experiment wasdesign by completely random design and student neuman keuls to differentiateamong treatments. The treatments were applied namely ( 60, 70, 80, 90, and100%). The result indicated that utilization of rubber seed flour does havesignificantly effect on growth of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The bestresult was achieved by treatment C ( 80 % rubber seed flour and 20% soybeanmeal). Total absolute body weight of 25,66 g, Spesific Growth Rate of 3,83 %/day, food efficiency of 42,08 %, while the best protein retention of 30,62 % andsurvival rate of 86,67 % respectively. Water quality during the research aretemperature of 28 – 300 C, pH of 5 – 6, and disolved oxygen of 4,1 - 5 ppm.
