HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DENGAN KEMANDIRIAN PERSONAL HYGIENE PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH

Abstract


Personal hygiene is a person's efforts to maintain at theirself hygiene. Children have not been able to maintain personal hygiene because lack of knowledge due to the age factor, so they at risk for experiencing personal hygiene problems. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge with personal hygiene independence in schoolage children. This study used a descriptive correlation design with a sample of 72 students taken by stratified random sampling. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis using chi-square test. The results of the study found that the independently of children for personal hygiene was 51 students (72.2%), and personal hygiene of independent children for personal hygiene was 60 students (83.3%). Statistic analysis obtained p-value 0.000 < (0.05) that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the independence of personal hygiene in school-age children. It is recommended for health workers to take promotive and preventive intervention for school-age children, especially in personal hygiene.
