Abstract

Pelalawan Wing Palace is a relic of the Sultanate of Pelalawan that was established in the 19th century. The palace symbolizes the glory of Malay culture, which is rich in art, tradition and unique architecture. One of its attractions is the wing-shaped palace design, which symbolizes the greatness and nobility of Malay customs. In addition, the strategic location of the palace, on the banks of the Kampar River, makes it a potential destination for the development of ecotourism and historical tourism. The attractions of Sayap Palace (such as historical architecture, performing arts and royal relics) were found to significantly influence visitation (β 0.362, Sig. 0.000). However, the R² value of 0.246 indicates that attractions alone are not enough. This is in line with Pitana & Diarta's theory that the synergy of attractions, amenity, and accessibility is necessary for visit optimization. The tourist attraction of Pelalawan Wing Palace (including historical buildings, performing arts, and royal relics) is proven to have a positive and significant influence on tourist visits. This is indicated by the regression coefficient value of 0.362 with Sig. 0.000. However, the results also reinforce the opinion of Pitana & Diarta (2009) that tourist attractions must be supported by amenity (facilities) and accessibility to create an optimal tourist experience.
