UPAYA INDONESIA DALAM MENJADIKAN KAWASAN TAMBANG BATUBARA OMBILIN MENJADI SITUS WARISAN DUNIA

Abstract

This research uses a pluralism perspective where policies can be from differ- ent actors. This study was also analyzed using the theory of cultural diplomacy. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive model.. The data obtained by doing literature study and documentation study that which con- sist of articles, journals, and website.
This study uses a Neorealist perspective on international relations and the Nation State level of analysis supported by strategy. This research is a qualitative re- search with deductive analysis method. The scope of research is Indonesia's efforts to make the Ombilin Coal Mining Area a world heritage site.
This research describes the results of Indonesia's efforts to make the Ombilin coal mining area a world heritage status by developing facilities as well as the legacy of the mining area which can be seen from the stipulation of 45 proposals in the form of objects and buildings and 119 cultural heritages proposed as the "Old City of the Sawahlunto Coal Mine" included in the temporary list / tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage. After going through a long process from 1999 until finally in 2019 the Ombilin Coal Mining Area was designated as a World Heritage Site.
