PERAN ASEAN TOURISM STRATEGIC PLAN (ATSP) DALAM MENINGKATKAN POTENSI PARIWISATA INDONESIA TAHUN 2016-2020

Abstract


Indonesia as one of the ASEAN countries that has the greatest tourism potential in the Southeast Asian region, has abundant natural wealth, diverse cultures and a society that is friendly to foreign tourists. All ASEAN countries have agreed on an ATSP (ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan) policy for two periods, I and II to increase tourism potential in the Southeast Asian region. The agreement has implications for policy-making related to tourism in ASEAN member countries, one of which is Indonesia.
The research method used is qualitative research, to explain the role of ATSP in increasing tourism in Indonesia. The theory used is Organizational Role theory. The concept used by the author is that increasing tourism is in the interests of a country to compete with other countries.
The results of the research are that Indonesia implements the ATSP strategy in developing tourism business standards and certification including; improving information center services, improving the performance of tourism managers, improving facilities and infrastructure, and empowering communities.
