Abstract


This research analyzes how Indonesia's gastrodiplomacy strategy through the Indonesia Spice Up the World program in the United States in 2021-2022. Gastrodiplomacy is a diplomatic strategy that uses food and culinary culture as tools to strengthen relationships between countries.
This research employs a qualitative method, with data collection techniques from various sources, including media reports, academic articles, and official documents related to the Indonesia Spice Up the World program. The acquired data is then analyzed to identify the impact and effectiveness of the program in promoting a positive image of Indonesia in the United States.
The results of the research showed that the Indonesia Spice Up the World program successfully created significant awareness of Indonesian culinary culture in the United States. Through various activities such as food festivals, cooking demonstrations, and collaborations with leading restaurants, this program managed to showcase the richness of flavors and the uniqueness of Indonesian cuisine to the American public. Furthermore, the program strengthened the cultural ties between Indonesia and the United States through culinary exchanges, tourism promotion, and business cooperation in the culinary sector. The findings of this research can serve as a foundation for the development of more effective gastrodiplomacy programs in the future.
