MODAL SOSIAL PEDAGANG KAKI LIMA DI KECAMATAN BINA WIDYA KOTA PEKANBARU ( Studi tentang Pedagang Sepatu Kaki Lima di Jalan H.R Soebrantas )
Abstract
The development of information and communication technology is currently happening very rapidly, so that progress makes people no longer meet their needs by producing goods and services themselves. It is difficult to compete in the modern era which has a significant impact on society both in meeting their own needs as well as the needs of his family. In addition, the very high increase in goods increases the difficulty of these humans in meeting their needs, especially those in urban areas. The informal business sector is a form of business that most of us encounter in society. Street vendors, namely traders who sell their wares in strategic places, such as at crossroads, on the side of the road, and others. Street vendors on Jalan H.R Soebrantas in Pekanbaru City District are one of the locations for street vendors selling their goods. This research examines the social capital of street vendors in Pekanbaru City. Social capital among street vendors is manifested in the following forms: Social networks are formed due to interactions between traders and social norms to establish order among street vendors, and the trust formed between street vendors becomes the glue and lubricant for their activities to run smoothly.
