Abstract


The condition of Lake Maninjau, which is currently being polluted, with the status of one of 15 lakes being priority management is one of the development priorities in West Sumatra Province. The main concern that must be followed up is the large number of floating net cages scattered in Lake Maninjau which is uncontrollable. This has caused the decline in the function of the Lake Maninjau area. The availability of clean water is hampered by the emergence of dangerous toxins from Lake Maninjau which are usually used by the surrounding community. This study aims to determine the management of the Lake Maninjau area function and the inhibiting factors in managing the functions of the Lake Maninjau area in Agam Regency. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The research information was determined by purposive sampling technique. Collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation and data analysis using qualitative descriptive methods. . The results of this study are that the management of the Lake Maninjau area is still not optimal and there is still a mismatch between the relevant agencies in carrying out their respective duties and functions. In addition, there are also various inhibiting factors in managing the functions of the Lake Maninjau area, such as lack of public awareness and participation, lack of budget, absence of technology and weak human resources.
