DIPLOMASI PUBLIK INDONESIA DALAM MENGGUNAKAN AUSTRALIA-INDONESIA YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM (AIYEP) DI KAWASAN AUSTRALIA

Abstract

This research discuss about Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange program (AIYEP). AIYEP is a bilateral program that focused on the improvement of the youth as the official delegation of both states. This reasearch aims to describe the role of public diplomacy in Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program to create mutual-understanding regarding the culture and the people to people contact for both of states. This research also aims to find out the opportunity and challenge that will be encountered by the Australia Indonesia Youth exchange Program.
This research uses qualitative research method. The reason of public diplomacy that contained in Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program because public diplomacy using public as the instrument to reach the interest of the country, AIYEP using Youth as the instrument for public Diplomacy . The techniques that the researcher uses for collecting the data is study literature. As for the technique of data analysis, the researcher uses qualitative data analysis whereas the problems are described according to the facts and correlate it mutually then drawn it into a conclusion. The analizing level is group.
The result of this research indicate that the using of soft power through public diplomacy afford to be implemented superbly in Australia – Indonesia Youth Exchange Program, regardless several challenges that be faced. This thing has been proven by the improvement of mutual understanding about cultural from delegates.
