KONFORMITAS PADA KELOMPOK JUDI ONLINE POKER DI PEKANBARU

Abstract

In this modern era with the developments of technology, gambling has been transformed from traditional gambling to online gambling. Based on the preliminary research. It was found that there were online poker gambling games used by gamers (the term for computer game players) for gambling activities. It is carried out by the gamers and it also has affect to other people around them. The focus of this research activity is the conformity of online in this poker groups in to internet station. it is located in Tampan sub-district, Pekanbaru City.
The research methodology used qualitative descriptive, in indicting the data the research used interviews, observation and documentation. Informants were by using purposive sampling technique. While to again the validity in this by using source triangulation.
Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the online poker gambling players in two internet station in Tampan District because of the interaction and communication carried out by fellow internet users. Among them are the imitators, individual desires, group cohesiveness, belief in friend and desire to be likened to other members, invitations from a environmental factors, aswell as profit factors obtained.This conformity occurs through a communication process where there is an exchange of information between gamers in internet station.
