Abstract


This study aims to determine the existence of differences in the wages of male and female workers in the industrial sector in Riau Province, as well as the factors that influence it. This study uses secondary data in the form of annual time series data from 2012-2019. The analytical method used is the two difference test and multiple linear regression, statistical tests include the f test, t test, and R square (coefficient of determination), as well as the classic assumption test that is normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heteroscedesticity with the help of the SPSS 24.0 program. From the results of this study it was found that there were significant differences between the wages of male and female workers in the industrial sector in Riau Province. The variables of education, working hours, and age simultaneously affect the wages of male and female workers in the industrial sector in Riau Province. While partially the education variable (X1) has a significant effect on the wages of both men and women but women get lower wages. In the working hours variable (X2) and age (X3) the coefficients are equally negative but in male workers the two variables have no significant effect while in female workers the variable has a significant effect on wage levels.
