PERAN KELUARGA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT ANTI TUBERKULOSIS PADA PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS HARAPAN RAYA PEKANBARU

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the infectious disease cause number of death. The Case Detection Rate and Cure Rate of TB in Indonesia still not reach the global target. This is influenced by several factors, one of which is a TB patient adherence in swallowing Anti- Tuberculosis Drugs. One of the factor that can influenced the adherence is the social-economical factor in which there is family roles. The family role can be care providing and do not discriminate the patient, give the motivation, ensure the supply of medication at home, and be observer in taking medication. This is a descriptive qualitative approach research with depth interview and observation. Researcher get 17 sample from pulmonary TB family population, pulmonary TB patient, and the health workers using purposive sampling technique. Researcher discovered that the family role in care providing and do not discriminate patients, give the motivation, ensure the supply of medication at home, and be observer in taking medication in various form. Researcher also found that the majority of pulmonary TB patient in Puskesmas Harapan Raya obeyed in swallowing Anti- Tuberculosis Drugs.
